La cuisine is an art and design center dedicated to contemporary creation, born in 2004 and developed by the city of Nègrepelisse. Its openness to themes related to food and design, makes it a unique place in Europe.

The art center is designed as a laboratory which invites visual artists, designers, graphic artists, architects, etc., to develop in situ projects. Exhibitions, residences and workshops allow the territory and its inhabitants to be involved in the creation process.

The commune of Nègrepelisse becomes an open-air space for study and experimentation. It houses several works of design, some of which are displayed in the public space:
- Honey, I forgot the tablecloth! 5.5 designers,
- Sharewood wood from matali crasset.
These questions resonate in the Fourneaux of the art center, an experimental kitchen that is both a tool for creation and mediation.

A lively space, the center offers a program of events all year round: visits, workshops, conferences, performances, readings, concerts ...
