Architectures and landscapes in La cuisine / Summer Academy
Architectures and landscapes in La cuisine aims to develop the public's knowledge of architecture. The program proposes to unveil the wealth of remarkable contemporary production, to tell the story of the built environment, to awaken curiosity and artistic sensibilities and to promote the cultural, scientific, technical and social contribution of architecture. The art and design center La cuisine offers a summer festival for the public as well as a special week during the JNA in October dedicated to school children.
The format is spread over the whole year in the form of workshops, conferences and meetings. It raises the question of the inhabited in the light of climate change and our dependencies. It takes the building created by RCR and labelled Remarkable Contemporary Architecture as a field of experimentation. Today, Architecture et paysage à La cuisine is a regional project that is set to take on a national and international dimension.
Architectures and landscapes in La cuisine aims to question the relationship between architecture and the environment, in the light of the climate crisis and the Anthropocene, as well as the ability of nature to create a landscape. Architecture and Landscape in the Kitchen is part of the three-year Reconciliation program, which raises the question of reconciliation between nature and culture.
How are we humans, architects, artists, designers, inhabitants, people, going to rebuild our relationship with the living, what alliances are we going to create with the soil, the rivers, the earth, the plants, the trees, the living, the non-humans, so that we are no longer in a relationship of exploitation and extraction, but of collaboration and exchange? On a macro scale, we want to work on reconciling the art center building with its human and non-human environment by resensitizing nature through architecture, landscape and art.
